ABOUT FESTIVAL
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The International Piano Festival Chopin in the Heart of Warsaw, is strongly linked with the place to which I have the great honour to invite you.
It will take place in the Holy Trinity Church in Warsaw, where, in 1825 a 15 year old Fryderyk Chopin performed for Russian Tsar Alexander 1st and received from him a gold diamoned ring for his performance. The young composer also sang in the parish choir and listened to sermons in this church.
The dome of the church is one of the biggest in Europe, and contributes to its splendid acoustics, hence the church has been used as a concert venue for many years since that time.
The church cross, located on top of the dome, has been designated as the geodetic centre-point of Warsaw. It was thus employed by sir William Heerlein Lindley to construct the city water supply network. As the building is rotunda in form, the piano will be situated in the centre of the church for the duration of the festival, directly under the light of the dome – that is, in the Heart of Warsaw.
You will be able to fully appreciate this arrangement, by observing and listening to the pianists from the two galleries around the church.
The International Piano Festival Chopin in the Heart of Warsaw evolved thanks to the dreams, passion and love of music. As in true love, not “because of”, but “in spite of”.
All the concerts of the festival are free from charge.
You will be able to listen to pianists of strong artistic character – we strive to present artists of great musicality, simultaneously adhering to the Chopin’s style.
We invite for the main Festival concerts everyone, who is able to maintain audience quietness for one hour of the concert duration. Children are welcome to attend ChopiNotes – the 30 minutes long Chopin concerts for children, held straight after the main recital of the day.
Concerts will take place in the Holy Trinity Church, pl. Małachowskiego 1 – just nearby the Zachęta National Gallery of Art.
I cordially invite you on behalf of the organizers,

The notion of a Festival has enchanted musicians, photographers, fine artists, and scientists – above all the lecturers and students of the SWPS University, managers of culture and animation, music fans, clergy, social activists and volunteers. They gave us both their efforts and their support.
Currently we present you music – all the concerts of the festival are free from charge.

We will also prepare for you a special area – Chillout under Cupola – surrounded by a Chopin photographic exhibition The Nostalgia of Chopin, presented courtesy of the photographer Tomek Sikora.
